Heroes

The main characters in Top War: Battle Game are known as Heroes, all of whom are ranked into three distinct ranks: R, SR, & SSR, from lowest to highest respectively. Each Hero has relatively unique skills and features, as well as being categorized in one of the three Military Types: Army, Navy, & Air Force. While most Heroes work best with their respective Military Type, there are some which have skills and features which work well with any of the three types of units.

Mutant Heroes[]

Starting in Late 2022 during the ongoing Total Eclipse: The First Expansion event, certain Heroes have been updated to include Mutant versions of their characters. The Mutant Heroes are given different stats, abilities, skills, and more in-depth backstories about how they were Mutated. At this time, only Free to Play SSR heroes have been mutated.

Hero Mechanics[]

As with many Free to Play mobile games, there are many ways that the Heroes in Top War can be upgraded, compared with one another, and be invested in via in-game purchases. While there are many different kinds of upgrades available to the game, the most notable gameplay mechanics the Heroes can obtain individually are Skills, Attributes, Perks, Hero Levels, & Star Levels. Each Hero's Skills, & Attributes differ from one another and all Heroes start at Level 1 and with 1 Star when unlocked. While there are Heroes that are distinctively Free to Play, some only available through unique, limited in-game Events, and some that are only available through in-game purchases, all of them are recruitable with 10 Hero Shards of the same Hero, with additional Hero Shards used to increase their Star Level and Perks once they are at 5 Stars.

Skills[]

The most notable mechanic used for Heroes are Skills, which are categorized into different types of skills: Hero Skills, Exclusive Skills, Unit Skills, & Supportive Skills. The number of skills that can be equipped by a Hero in their skill slots increases as they are upgraded; at Level 20 with two slots, at Level 60 with three, and at Level 100 with the maximum number of four skill slots. The first skill slot is limited to Exclusive and Supportive Skills, whereas the other three slots are able to use both Unit and Supportive Skills. All but Hero Skills are collectable, have levels, and are able to level up by merging three of the same skill of the same level (ex. merging three Level 4 Army HP Skills results in obtaining a single Level 5 Army HP Skills). These Skills can also be Disassembled, which removes the selected skill(s) from the inventory in exchange for Skill Chips.

Unit & Supportive Skills are also ranked as either Rare or Normal Skills, with Rare Skills having better stats than their Normal counterparts but being less frequent to obtain. Rare Skills & Exclusive Skills are unique in that they can be obtained through Skill Shards along with the other methods of obtaining any of the other collectable skills.
